Bloodborne pathogens are microorganisms such as viruses or bacteria that are carried in blood and can cause disease in people. This course will explore the primary blood borne pathogens and the OSHA standards regarding these.

Objectives:

Upon of this course the learner will be able to:

  1. List the three primary bloodborne pathogens covered in the OSHA standards.
  2. Discuss Universal Precautions.
  3. Be able to utilize protective equipment to protect themselves from bloodborne pathogens.
  4. Discuss the OSHA standards for blood borne pathogens.
