Evidence Based Treatment, Counseling, and Referral-Florida Certification Board CAC
This training is designed to meet the Florida Certification Board’s requirements for the Evidence-Based Treatment, Counseling, and Referral content-specific training domain required for those applying to become a CAC in Florida. It includes evidence-based approaches, ethical considerations, treatment matching, and referral processes with a focus on real-world application.
This course will award 50 continuing education hours.

- Define and explain the principles of evidence-based practice (EBP) in behavioral health.
- Identify and apply major evidence-based counseling modalities (e.g., CBT, MI, DBT).
- Develop individualized treatment plans that integrate clinical assessment and EBP.
- Recognize when and how to refer clients to higher or more appropriate levels of care.
- Utilize ethical and culturally responsive decision-making in treatment and referral.
- Demonstrate familiarity with ASAM Criteria and SAMHSA’s treatment models.
- Document treatment, counseling, and referral activities accurately and professionally.

- Course Completion Information: To earn continuing education credit, professionals must register and pay the fee for the course. They must read the content and demonstrate understanding by earning a minimum score of 70 percent on testing materials. The certificate of completion will be able to be downloaded after the above is completed. Refunds will be granted upon request with the withdrawal of credit for the course.
