Pain Management For Dentistry Patients With A History of Addiction

Dentists prescribe approximately 9% of opioid analgesics dispensed by outpatient US retail pharmacies annually and are the highest percentage prescriber group for patients between 10 and 19 years of age.

This course aims to assist dental professionals in navigating the complexities of pain management for patients with chemical dependence and opioid use disorders. It will cover topics such as identifying risk factors and optimizing effective therapies while mitigating potential risks.

Relevance and Target Audience:  This course is designed for dental professionals to assist them in reducing relapse in their patients who need pain management but have a history of addictions.

Course Completion Information:  To earn continuing education credit, professionals must register and pay the fee for the course.  They must read the content and demonstrate understanding by earning a minimum score of 70 percent on testing materials.  The certificate of completion will be able to be downloaded after the above is completed. Refunds will be granted upon request with the withdrawal of credit for the course.
