Treatment Knowledge MCAP

This course provides an advanced, clinically grounded examination of substance use disorders, emphasizing the biological, psychological, and social determinants of addiction and the application of major theoretical models to complex clinical presentations. Participants will critically evaluate evidence-based treatment modalities, including pharmacotherapy, behavioral interventions, and adjunctive approaches, with attention to current research and practice guidelines. Through case analysis and applied exercises, learners will develop competency in formulating individualized, culturally responsive treatment plans. The curriculum further addresses ethical and legal standards, clinical documentation, client engagement, and interprofessional collaboration to support readiness for independent and multidisciplinary practice.

This course is approved by the Florida Certification Board for those seeking a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist credential. It meets the 45 hour requirement for the Treatment Knowledge Domain.
