Vaping and E-Cigarettes for Dental Professionals
Nicotine vaporizers and electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) remain popular among adults and adolescents. However, as they can lead to adverse effects within the oral cavity, including conditions like stomatitis and mouth ulcers, it’s essential to acknowledge that tobacco-containing products, including e-cigarettes, are linked to immediate and long-term oral and systemic health issues.
This course will explore the historical development of e-cigarettes and vaping, the e-liquid components, the potential damage caused by e-cigarettes and vaping, and assist dental professionals in educating their patients.
This course will award 1 continuing education hour.
