Florida Laws and Rules Pertaining to the Mental Health Field Update-3 Hours
This course provides an advanced review of Florida legal and ethical standards governing clinical counseling and psychotherapy practice. Participants will examine the Florida Evidence Code Chapter 90.503 related to psychotherapist-patient privilege, as well as Florida Statutes Chapter 456 and Chapter 491, including Rule 64B4, as they apply to professional regulation, licensure, and scope of practice. Additional content addresses client confidentiality, informed consent, client rights, and the ethical implications of service delivery. Emphasis is also placed on the integration of technology in psychotherapy, including privacy safeguards, secure communication practices, and protection of sensitive health information.
