This course reviews the difference between medication administration and assisting with self-administration of medication, as well as the goals, roles, and responsibilities of unlicensed personnel in medication assistance.

  1. Understand the difference between what is meant by administering, self-administering, and assisting with medication.
  2. Discuss the medical terminology associated with medications.
  3. Understand the difference between brand and generic medications.
  4. Explain what an indication and counterindication is.
