Infection Control in the Oral Health Care Setting (2-Hours)

Infection control is essential to safe dental care. Dental healthcare personnel may be exposed to blood, saliva, aerosols, sharps, contaminated instruments, and environmental surfaces during routine practice. Proper infection prevention procedures help reduce the risk of disease transmission and protect patients, staff, and the public.

This course reviews key infection control principles for dental settings, including Standard Precautions, disease transmission, hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, instrument sterilization, surface disinfection, dental unit waterline maintenance, waste management, occupational health, exposure response, and written infection control protocols.
