Dentists prescribe approximately 9% of opioid analgesics dispensed by outpatient US retail pharmacies annually and are the highest percentage prescriber group for patients between 10 and 19 years of age.
This course aims to assist dental professionals in navigating the complexities of pain management for patients with chemical dependence and opioid use disorders. It will cover topics such as identifying risk factors and optimizing effective therapies while mitigating potential risks.
