Risk Factors for Adolescent Alcohol and Drug Use

This course provides an advanced clinical examination of risk factors associated with adolescent alcohol and drug use, extending beyond foundational graduate level training. Content focuses on the interaction of neurodevelopmental vulnerability, psychosocial stressors, family systems, peer dynamics, and environmental exposure as they contribute to early initiation and progression of substance use. Emphasis is placed on evidence based risk assessment, identification of high risk profiles, and the application of clinically informed prevention and early intervention strategies within behavioral health and educational settings.
