Medical Errors in Clinical Laboratory Testing In Florida

This course examines the prevention of medical errors throughout the preanalytical, analytical, and postanalytical phases of clinical laboratory testing. Participants will review common sources of error involving patient identification, specimen collection and handling, quality control, equipment performance, result interpretation, documentation, and communication. The course emphasizes root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action, patient safety, personnel competency, and the responsibilities of Florida clinical laboratory professionals when testing conditions or results are unreliable.
