Fall prevention remains a considerable challenge across the care continuum. Every year in the United States, hundreds of thousands of patients fall in hospitals and patient care settings, with 30-50 percent resulting in injury. This course will explore those most vulnerable to falls and how we can work to prevent injuries.
This course will award 2 continuing education hours.

- Identify key risk factors for falls in patients within a healthcare setting.
- Using standard assessment tools, be able to assess and identify patients at high risk of falling.
- Understand the ethical and legal considerations in fall prevention.
- Explain the appropriate steps to take following a patient fall.
