How an organization plans for, responds to, and recovers from issues is critical to the safety of patients and employees.  This course will explore conditions that pose a threat and what should be done.  We will look at security measures and how to prepare them.  The grievance process will also be reviewed.

Course Objectives

  1. Discuss and handle onsite threats.
  2. Be able to identify who to call in an emergency.
  3. Understand how to keep equipment working properly.
  4. Be able to handle complaints and grievances by staff and clients
  5. Discuss performance improvement.

Ms. Robertson, M.Ed., CAP, LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. She is credentialed in alcohol and other drug counseling.

Beginning her career in the hospital setting, working in admissions, on the 24-hour unit, inpatient and IOP for both adults and adolescents, she went on to supervise a group of clinicians that went into medical-surgical hospitals to assess and place patients. She went into the outpatient setting, working with adults and families. Throughout her career, Ms. Robertson has focused on training and education through presenting live and authored coursework.
