Treating Individuals with Co-Occurring Disorders
This course will award 1 continuing education hour.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course the learner will be able to:
- Identify people’s experiences with addiction and mental illness as varying
- Describe co-occurring disorders
- Identify people with mental health disorders as more likely to have a substance use disorder
- Describe integrated treatment as addressing both disorders at the same time
- Identify early detection
- Identify people with co-occurring disorders as likely to experience more severe and chronic problems and as more vulnerable to relapse and worsening of symptoms.
