The Tennessee Board for Professional Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists requires Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) to complete:
20 Total CEU Hours + Core Requirements:
• Every renewal: 3 hours in Ethical Considerations in Mental Health and 2 additional hours of online education
• Note: Only 10 hours are allowed to be completed online. Remaining hours must be completed via in-person methods.
The Tennessee Board of Social Work requires Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) and other social work license levels to complete:
30 Total CEU Hours + Core Requirements:
• Every renewal: 6 hours in Ethical Considerations in Mental Health and 1 hour in Tennessee Laws and Rules.
Deadline: LPCs and LMFTs are required to complete their CEUs every 2-years by their birth month. LCSWs are required to complete their CEUs by December 31st every 2 years.
