The California Board of Behavioral Sciences Requirements:

The California Board of Behavioral Sciences requires Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCCs), and Licensed Educational Psychologists (LEPs) to complete:

36 Total CE Hours + Core Requirements:

  • Every renewal: 6 hours of California Laws and Ethics for Mental Health Professionals
  • One-time requirements (all license types): 6 hours of Suicide Risk Assessment and Intervention and 3 hours of Telehealth, including legal and ethical considerations
  • First-time renewals only (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC): 7 hours of HIV/AIDS
  • Note: BaysideCEU does not currently offer the LEP-specific first-time renewal courses: 7 hours of Child Abuse Assessment & Reporting or 15 hours of Alcoholism and Other Chemical Substance Dependency
